Q: HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO SIGN UP?
A. Membership rates vary depending on the number of classes per week a person attends and the length of the commitment. We will discuss various membership options when you come in for a complimentary assessment. We offer discounts for first responders, military, teachers and students.

Q: CAN I COME IN TO TRY OUT A BEGINNER CLASS?
A. Our group classes are only for members. If you’d like to give CrossFit a try, we do offer a free introductory session and a complimentary one-on-one assessment.  The difference between the two is that the intro session is done in a group setting with others who are curious about CrossFit. The one-on-one is scheduled with a coach who will walk you through the CrossFit program, teach you some movements, and put you through a baseline workout.  To register for your free intro or schedule a one-on-one assessment, you can call us at (203) 990-0479 or fill out our online registration.

Q: CAN I PAY PER CLASS OR BUY A PUNCHCARD?
A. Unfortunately, CrossFit 06830 does not offer the option to pay-as-you-go. This option usually results in people coming very infrequently and they do not get the true benefit of CrossFit. In order to see results, you need to be consistent with your training. Therefore, all of our memberships are commitments to at least two classes per week.

Q: WHAT DOES “PRO-RATED” MEAN?
A. All CrossFit 06830 billing takes place on the 1st of the month. So if your first day happens to be on the 15th of the month, you would be charged half a month of membership to bring your account current through the month.

General Questions

Q: I’M A FEMALE, AND I DON’T WANT TO BULK UP. WON’T LIFTING ALL THOSE WEIGHTS MAKE ME BULKY?
A. The only way you’re going to get big is if you’re eating to get big. Alternately, the only way you’re going to get lean is if you’re eating to get lean. No one has ever gotten “body-building big” just by doing CrossFit. Nutrition is the main ingredient, and we’re happy to help you figure out the right plan for you. A nutritional consultation is included in your CrossFit 06830 membership. Please read this article from sportsmedicine.about.com for a lot of good reasons as to why weight training is especially beneficial for women. Also, check out this AWESOME blog post from CrossFit FMS. Should help alleviate any fears that you have. :-)

Q: IS IT ONLY GROUP CLASSES? CAN I COME IN AND WORK OUT ON MY OWN?
A. We do not offer Open Hours

Q: HOW OFTEN CAN/SHOULD I COME TO CLASS?
A. CrossFit prescribes a training schedule of three days on, one day off, though most people will need to build up to that level. Start off training every other day and see how your body reacts. If that’s ok, try 2 days on, 1 day off for a few weeks and see how you do with that. Build up slowly to an intense schedule. CrossFit is an intense workout, and proper rest and recovery is essential.

Q: DO YOU HAVE PARKING?
A.Yes. We have a parking lot and also have plenty of street parking.

Q: DO YOU HAVE A SHOWER?
A. We do indeed have a shower.

Q: I HAVE AN INJURY. CAN I STILL DO CROSSFIT?
A. It depends on the injury, but chances are that yes – you should still be working out! Your best bet is to talk to us about what’s giving you trouble. Our coaches are are experienced and happy to modify any workout to work around your injury. There are still plenty of things you can do while injured. The worst thing you can do is avoid coming to the gym. This will only prolong your healing and make you out of shape and weak. Furthermore, exercise produces growth hormone, which will speed up your healing and recovery. What you should do is look at your injury as an opportunity to work on weaknesses you may have otherwise neglected.

Member Questions

Q: DO I HAVE TO SIGN UP FOR CLASS AHEAD OF TIME?
A. We cap our class sizes at 15 to make sure every member is getting the quality attention they deserve. If you show up without having signed up ahead of time and there are already 15 people scheduled, you will not be allowed to take class and must wait until the next class starts (assuming there’s not already 15 in that one too!). :-) Bottom line: sign up ahead of time. It’s really easy and doesn't take much time.

Q: HOW DO I SIGN UP FOR CLASSES?
A. Click here to go to our Zen Planner scheduling tool. Find the class you want to sign up for and click the “Sign Up Now” button right next to it. You’ll be prompted to either login or create an account.

Q: HOW DO I CANCEL MY MEMBERSHIP?
A. Email us at info@crossfit06830.com, and we’ll send you the cancellation form. Keep in mind that CrossFit 06830 has a 30-day cancellation policy; cancellation requests must be made 30 days prior to the next billing cycle, or your account will be charged again. This means that if you know that you will be moving out of town on April 1, you must let us know by March 1st that you intend to cancel. There are fees for canceling a membership so please speak with a staff member so you understand the fees.

Q: I’LL BE OUT OF TOWN FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME. CAN I PUT MY MEMBERSHIP ON HOLD?
A. Yes, CrossFit 06830 offers the ability to freeze your membership for one month for free. Every additional month you will be charged $50/month. If you are still within your initial contract term, your contract end date will extend by the length of the freeze.

Q: I CROSSFIT OUT OF TOWN AND WILL BE VISITING SOON. CAN I DROP-IN FOR A CLASS?
A. Sure - we love having people drop in who are visiting from out of town. If you are a member of another CrossFit and have been CrossFitting for at least 3 months, you are welcome to drop in to any of our classes. We ask that you e-mail us 24 hours prior to ensure that space permits. Please be sure to include the name of the gym you currently attend and their phone number. If you just show up, we won't be able to accomodate you. The cost is $20 for the drop in + a discount off our shirt. If you are intending on dropping in for more than 2 classes, consider buying a weekly drop in pass. Arrive at least 15 minutes early to fill out our waiver and introduce yourself to the coach. Please e-mail
